President Abbas killed Yassir Arafat (?)

without comments

abbas4Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas was party to the plot to assassinate the late Palestinian leader Yassir Arafat, a senior Fatah member said on Monday.

Abbas conspired with the Israeli authorities to assassinate Arafat, who died in November 2004, Farouq Qaddoumi, the secretary general of the Fatah’s central committee, claimed at a news conference in Amman on Sunday.   Read More…

MTW comment: Carefoooool! Given the recent Lieberman’s attack on Abbas, this accusation (true or fabricated) serves the interests of Israel. Under tremendous international pressure to negotiate the two-state solution with the Palestinians, this is the time Israel may benefit from inciting an internal conflict between the Palestinian factions. Again, we will hear, “We have no partner to negotiate with.” And again, the peace talks will be successfully sabotaged. In the long run, Israel’s position is stronger in negotiations with radical Hamas, rather than with moderate Fatah. This may well be the name of the game, the ultimate goal behind Lieberman’s surprising “honesty”, and the true source of similar revelations.

Ashkelon: The Story of the Middle East Conflict

without comments

arab_woman_bThe creation of modern Ashkelon and its consequences contain elements that have been subdued in public discourse but have been a major contributor to the Middle East conflict and a guide for one side of the struggle.

We have Israel seizing control of an ancient area, which had for millennia been controlled by others. UN Resolution 181, which awarded the area to the Palestinian state, has been violated in the seizure. The original inhabitants are expelled without cause. The Arab town of Al-Majdal [2] is mostly destroyed and memories of an Arab presence are erased. The town’s name is slowly changed, evolving from Al-Majdal to Migdal-Gad, Migdal-Ashkelon and finally to Ashkelon; as if the city descended directly from the original bronze era seaport. The victims are consistently oppressed and reduced to impoverishment  Foreigners occupy the properties of the dispossessed. Sorrow, pain and feelings of helplessness burst into violence against the injustice and oppression. Although the violence is minimal the retaliation is major. Al-Majdal has no escape from suffering.  Read More…

Few tears for crimes against Muslims

without comments

media_1BAs if we needed any more proof that the international media deliberately avoids exposing anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian injustices, its suspect behaviour during recent days has sealed the case.

Even as we were being force-fed minute details of Michael Jackson’s colourful life along with endless speculation as to the true parentage of his children, a former US Congresswomen and presidential candidate, Cynthia McKinney, was languishing in an Israeli jail.   Read More…

Israeli soldiers reveal the brutal truth of Gaza attack

without comments

ocl1Israeli troops were repeatedly encouraged by officers to prioritise their own safety over that of Palestinian civilians when they embarked on the ground invasion of Gaza in January, according to the first direct testimonies of soldiers who served in the operation.

The picture that emerges from the testimonies, which have been seen by The Independent, is one of massive fire power to cover advances and rules of engagement that were calculated to ensure, in the words attributed to one battalion commander, that “not a hair will fall of a soldier of mine. I am not willing to allow a soldier of mine to risk himself by hesitating. If you are not sure, shoot.”   Read More…

Mandatory Swine Flu Vaccine Alert

with one comment

h1n1It’s crucial to understand that these vaccines are experimental, untested, toxic and extremely dangerous to the human immune system. They contain squalene-based adjuvants that cause a host of annoying to life-threatening autoimmune diseases. They must be avoided, even if mandated. It’s also known that vaccines don’t protect against diseases they’re designed to prevent and often cause them. They should be banned but proliferate anyway because they’re so profitable, and if globally mandated to the greatest extent ever.   Read More…

Israel and EU clash over settlements

without comments

euThe Israeli Foreign Ministry’s concern over an “unusually harsh statement” by the European Commission over Israel’s settlement policy indicates a growing unease between Israel and the EU.

The European Commission (EC), the executive arm of the EU, said that Israel’s settlement policy in the West Bank was strangling the Palestinian economy and forcing Palestinians there to become more dependent on foreign aid.

“It is the European taxpayers who pay most of the price of this dependence,” read the July 6 EC statement.   Read More…
