Obama to U.S. Jewish leaders: Israel must engage in self-reflection
U.S. President Barack Obama met yesterday for the first time with 15 American Jewish leaders at the White House, for talks aimed at clearing the air following allegations that his administration was taking a tough line with Israel over settlement activity.
At the meeting, Obama told the leaders that he wants to help Israel overcome its demographic problem by reaching an agreement on a two-state solution, but that in order to do so, Israel would need “to engage in serious self-reflection.” Read More…

Achieving two states without a solution
While Israel has been buying yet more time with Washington in bickering over a paltry settlement freeze, it has been forging ahead with the process of creating two Palestinian territories, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, that, despite supposedly emerging from occupation, are in reality sinking ever deeper into chronic dependency on Israeli goodwill. Solana went on to say that the EU would accept the Palestinian state as a full member of the UN, and set a calendar for the implementation. Read More…
MTW comment: It seems strange. The UN General Assembly Resolution 181 has already established the Palestinian state (Arab state), including its borders, in 1947.

MTW comment 2: This guy, Yevgeny Satanovsky, is not an expert. He is an Israeli stooge or an idiot. For sixty plus years, Israel has consistently been demonstrating its unwillingness to negotiate peace in good faith and its tendency to sabotage every peace initiative that approached a realistic solution. Besides, how can the “fourth military power” in the world and the concentration camp negotiate as equals? Satanovsky’s “educated” opinion is a desperate attempt to revive the Zionist agenda that is rapidly losing international support worldwide.
